  1.              UNDERWATER AND TRIGGER HAPPY
  2.              ----------------------------
  3. Underwater requires a mouse, VGA graphics. A Sound Blaster card is optional
  4. Note: if you do not have a sound blaster card, you can erase to sound files
  5.  
  6. to enter the program type WATER at the dos prompt.
  7. at the title screen you have three options:
  8. 1) SHOOT
  9. 2) VIEW HIGH SCORES
  10. 3) QUIT
  11.  
  12. by pressing 1 you begin a game of underwater.
  13. by pressing 2 you can view the high scores table.
  14. by pressing 3 you return to dos.

  16.                  THE GAME

  18. The game is divided into three parts.
  19. The first (and largest part) of the game consists of shooting 3 different
  20. forms of underwater life. These are: fish, bubbles, and floating seeweed.
  21. You have a limited supply of bullets unless you shoot a floating box.
  22. Shooting a floating box will give you a machine gun, that means that you can
  23. hold down the button.
  24.  
  25. each level has a time limit they vary from 5 seconds to 20 seconds.
  26. At the end of each level your points are totaled.
  27. If you did not reach the mimimun points for that level you will be returned
  28. to the title screen.
  29. If you did well enough you will also be asked to enter your initials.
  30. Here are the point values for the different objects:
  31. bubbles                    10
  32. fish                       20
  33. seeweed                    30
  34. remaining bullets           2
  35.  
  36. After you have defeated a certain amount of levels you will be brought to
  37. the big boss, the sub.
  38. To destroy the sub you must shoot its three parts (in order)
  39. the propeler, the engine box, and the window.
  40. if you do this before the sub makes its rounds, it will sink and you will be
  41. moved onto the third part.

  43. The third part is only one level long.
  44. This is the bonus stage of the game.
  45. it consists of hitting the little plankton that float about the screen.
  46. each plankton adds 40 points to your score.
  47. once this level is over you will be returned to the main screen.
